(30 min) Tokyo Tower -The symbol of Tokyo, offers a great 360 degree panoramic view from its main observatory. (60 min) Lunch - Japanese-style food (30 min) Imperial Palace Plaza, Nijubashi Bridge Admire the view at this National Garden that was formerly a private garden of the Royal Family. Enjoy the view of Nijubashi Bridge, which is said to be the face of the Imperial Palace, as well as the view of the Imperial Palace itself. Hinode Pier (40 min) Board the Sumida River Cruise.Cruise around modern day Tokyo and experience the atmosphere of Edo. Sumida River Cruise may be unavailable without prior notice due to river conditions. Changes in the itinerary will be provided by the guide. Azumabashi Bridge over Sumida River (40 min) Sensoji Temple & Nakamise Shopping Street - Senso-ji, Tokyo's oldest temple, offers plenty to see including the bright red Kaminarimon Gate, a statue of the god of thunder, and a five-story pagoda. The bustling street known as "Nakamise" stretches for about 250 m from Kaminarimon Gate to Senso-ji Temple and is filled with a plethora of shops. Ginza (drive-by) From the window get a look at Ginza, where rows of luxury brand shops, and recently 'fast fashion' retailers, line the streets. 17:10-17:10 Hours Tokyo Station Marunouchi South Exit (Drop-off) Disembarking only 17:30~17:30 Hours Tour ends at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal After the tour ends at Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal, there is no shuttle service to hotels. Depart from Hamamatsucho and head to Mt. Fuji by bus. (Chuo Expressway or Tomei Expressway) (30 min) Mt. Fuji 5th Station The bus will head up to the 5th Station along the Subaru Line. The 5th Station is situated at 2, 300 meters (7, 546 ft) above sea level. At this height, participants will be amazed at spectacular, breathtaking views from above the clouds. Hakone was formed by a powerful volcanic eruption nearly 3, 000 years ago, and provides postcard views of Mt. Fuji towering 30 km northwest. Admire the superb view of Mt. Fuji from aboard a ship. (50 min) Komagatake Ropeway Take a 7-minute ropeway ride to the peak of Mt. Komagatake. A total of 50 minutes will be spent here, including time to walk around at the peak. Take a cableway ride up to the spiritual Hakone Shrine Mototsumiya (original shrine) that nestles at the mountaintop. Hakone Depart Hakone and return to Tokyo by bus. The bus may make multiple stops at hotels in the Hakone area. 17:00-19:30 Odawara Station. Tour ends after drop at Odawara station Catch train from Odawara station to Kyoto. All transportation on this tour is by bus. (50 min) Nijo Castle - A World Heritage site. Tour the historical castle completed in 1626, which was built to provide lodging for Tokugawa Shogun and as a palladium for Kyoto Imperial Palace. The impressive, elaborate carvings and decors in the Ninomaru Palace are a must-see. Nijo Castle is closed on Tuesdays in January, July, August, and December (Closed on the following day if Tuesday is a holiday.) If the castle is closed, or if the tour is during the year-end/New Year's holidays, Ryoan-ji Temple will be visited instead. (45 min) Kinkaku-ji Temple - A World Heritage site. The wooden architecture is covered in thin layers of pure gold and is surrounded by a beautiful pond. (40 min)[Except Mondays] Kyoto Imperial Palace -See the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which was used as the Emperor's residence until about 150 years ago. On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, Kyoto Imperial Palace is closed. On these days, the tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead. (Mondays, Tuesday if Monday is a national holiday, May 14-17 for the Aoi Festival, New Year's holidays, and whenever there is an Imperial Household event). (40 min) [Mondays (and Tuesdays when Monday is a national holiday)] Kitano Tenmangu Shrine -On Mondays (and Tuesdays if a national holiday falls on the preceding Monday), this tour will visit Kitano Tenmangu Shrine instead of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. It is famous for housing the God of scholarship. This shrine's main hall is a designated national treasure. The shrine is especially great to see during the plum blossom and autumn leaf seasons. The tour will visit Nishi Hongan-ji Temple instead of Kitano Tenmangu Shrine on September 25 and December 25. (50 min) Lunch (Japanese/Western style buffet lunch) (90 min) From Kyoto to Nara - Head to Nara via the Nara Keinawa Expressway (60 min) Todai-ji Temple (Great Buddha)/Nara Park A World Heritage site. This is the symbol of the Nara Period and one of the world's largest wooden structures. Its huge main hall and bronze Great Buddha are impressive to behold. (40 min) Kasuga Taisha Shrine This Nara Period shrine is designated as a World Heritage Site. The deer of Nara Park are thought to be the shrine messengers. The tour will not enter areas requiring admission. (20 min) Nara Nagomikan The largest souvenir shop in Nara. Enjoy yourself in this spacious shop and look for the perfect souvenir. This facility may be omitted from the itinerary if it is closed on the day of the tour, or as a result of traffic congestion. 18:30- 19:30 Hours Drop at Avanti Sunrise Tours Desk (Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit) Please head to your next destination on your own after the tour.
